GETTING AROUND THE MUSEUM
BLUE BADGE PARKING
There are 2 blue badge spaces in our visitor car park.
MUSEUM ENTRANCE
The entrance to the Museum from the car park is accessible by a ramp and has a railing on one side.
LIFTS AND ACCESS
The Gordon Highlanders Museum is housed over two floors: The Café, Shop, Welcome Desk, Cinema, Grant Room and Regimental Gallery are located on the ground floor. The Armoury, Silver Room, Temporary Exhibition Space and Regimental Dining Room are on the lower ground floor and are accessible via stairs or lift. The Silver Room and Regimental Dining Room has stepped access. Most areas are accessible for prams, pushchairs, manual and electric wheelchairs.
Where access is restricted due to the nature of our historic building alternative forms of access will be provided. At present, this includes access to our outdoor WW1 Trench, the Silver Room and Regimental Dining Room.
SEATING
There is seating in the Café and a limited number of seats in each gallery. The is additional Café seating in the Walled Victorian Garden and a number of benches are located within the grounds.
LIGHTING
Please note there is lower lighting in our Cinema, Silver Room and Temporary Exhibition Space due to the atmospheric design of the rooms and the fragility of some of the items on display.
GUIDE DOGS
Guide Dogs are welcome.
CARER ADMISSION
Should you require to visit with support we will grant your carer complimentary admission.
WHEELCHAIR LOAN
Wheelchairs are available for loan whilst visiting the museum and are cleaned thoroughly between uses. Wheelchairs cannot be booked in advance, so please speak with our staff about availability on arrival.
ACCESSIBLE TOILETS
Accessible toilets are located on all floors of the Museum.

SENSORY BACKPACK
You can borrow a Sensory Backpack from the Welcome Desk to use during your visit. The pack contains many sensory aids including fidget toys, ear defenders, sunglasses, binoculars and torches.
MUSEUM SENSORY MAP
You can use this map to identify the different sensory experiences you will encounter during your visit to the Museum. You can also borrow a copy of this map on request from the Welcome Desk during your visit.
